Andrés Felipe Lozano Guerrero

Civil Engineer by profession but always with a knack for programming. I started programming in college, developing fluid models for manholes with fluid dynamics software. Then I started to get into Data Science and completed the certificate for DS4A, a program between the Secretary of Technology from Colombia and an institution called Correlation One.

As I was working as a Civil Engineer in construction companies, I started to develop small data science applications that used Pandas and Matplotlip. Then I was able to get into a full development role of web applications in the construction sector. These applications included platforms for budget estimation with interactions with Autodesk APS (Platform with CAD, BIM and Project Information) and hubs for centralizing area initiatives. I mainly developed them with Next.js App Router, Tailwind, Drizzle, Supabase and deployed them using Azure App Service, which provisioned the environment with integrations with CI.

Then I moved to my current role, in the SAAS Higher Ed sector. I develop web applications on multi-region, multi-language environments, developed mainly in React, with Redux. The backend services are serverless applications developed with Node and Java. I have led initiatives that resulted in a 30% bundle reduction done with Webpack (leveraging bundle analyzer), reducing duplicated dependencies and performing tree-shaking techniques. I also lead multiple initiatives that involve mapping future work, optimizations and sprint-to-sprint tasks for a group of 5 developers. My background in project management has come in handy for leading initiatives.
